How we work

Learn the business. Design the answer. Build it in the open.

Most of what makes an engagement succeed happens before anyone writes code. Here's how the whole thing goes.

The arc

What an engagement actually looks like

  1. Step 01

    Conversation

    1 hour

You describe how the business runs and what you wish were easier. We ask a lot of questions and tell you honestly whether there's something here worth doing.

What we need from you: Bring context, not requirements.

  2. Step 02

    Assessment

    2–4 weeks

We spend time with the people doing the work, follow your customer end to end, and inventory the systems and processes underneath. Then we map the opportunities and size them.

What we need from you: Access to your team and your systems.

  3. Step 03

    Future state

    1–3 weeks

We design what better looks like — concretely. Concepts, flows, interfaces where useful. Specific enough that you can react to it and disagree with parts of it.

What we need from you: Reactions. Disagreement is useful.

  4. Step 04

    Roadmap

    Included

Sequenced by value and effort, with the quick wins pulled forward. You own this document whether or not we build any of it.

What we need from you: A decision about pace and budget.

  5. Step 05

    Build

    Ongoing

We implement in increments you can see. Integrations, automation, interfaces, applications — shipped in pieces, in production, being used.

What we need from you: A point of contact who can make calls.

  6. Step 06

    Live and iterate

    As needed

We stay long enough to make sure it's adopted, then adjust as the business changes. No lock-in, and no dependency we can't explain.

What we need from you: Feedback from real usage.

The through-line

Understand the business. Imagine what's possible. Build it.

01

Understand

We learn how the business actually operates.

Not a survey. We sit with the people doing the work, follow a customer from first call to final invoice, and map where information starts, stops, and gets retyped.

02

Imagine

We identify opportunities and design a better future state.

This is the part most companies never get. We show you what your business could look like — concretely enough that you can react to it.

03

Build

Then we make it real.

The recommendation and the implementation come from the same team. Nothing gets lost in a handoff, because there isn't one.

Working principles

How we behave once we’re in

We work directly with you
The people in your first conversation are the people doing the work. No account layer between you and the team.
Increments, not big reveals
You see progress continuously. Anything that takes six months before you can touch it is designed wrong.
We say no to work
If your systems are fine, we'll tell you. If a cheaper option exists, we'll point at it. That's the only way the advice is worth anything.
Nothing you can't own
You get the accounts, the code, the documentation, and a clear explanation of how it fits together.

Technology assessment

Not sure where to start?

You don’t need to come to us with a solution. Bring us the business.

We’ll learn how it works, look at the technology and processes supporting it, and identify where the biggest opportunities exist.

Areas we look at

  • Customer journey
  • Website
  • Sales
  • CRM
  • Scheduling
  • Operations
  • Payments
  • Communication
  • Reporting
  • Existing software
  • Manual workflows
  • Integrations
  • Automation
  • AI opportunities

What you walk away with

  • Current-state assessment
  • Opportunity map
  • Quick wins
  • Recommendations
  • Future-state concepts
  • Prioritized roadmap
  • Implementation options

What could your business do differently?

You don’t need to know the answer yet. Tell us how your business works, where you want to go, or what you wish were easier.

We’ll figure out what technology can make possible.

  • What if customers could do this themselves?
  • What if your team never had to enter this twice?
  • What if you could see the entire business from one place?
  • What if your systems actually worked together?
  • What if the software worked the way your business works?
  • What would you change if technology were not the limitation?
